The boat is two hours. The rest of the day is the point. Your own guide builds the North Shore around your group and adjusts it on the day for the wind, the waves, and the weather — so you get the most out of every hour, not a fixed route.
How the morning works
One hour up the middle of the island, thirty minutes for coffee or breakfast, and you're at the harbor with time to spare.
Having too much fun? You can always add an extra hour or two on the day — just tell your guide. Extra hours are $100 (Sienna) or $125 (Sprinter).
Booked an earlier boat? No problem — we shift the whole morning around your departure time. A 7:30 AM boat means a 5:45 AM pickup. Just tell us the slot when you reserve.

After the boat
Everything below runs in one direction up the coast from the harbor, so nothing is backtracking. Your guide picks the order based on the day.
Two ways to do it:
Giovanni's garlic shrimp is the North Shore classic and our recommendation — and with us there's no waiting in line. Take it to go and picnic beachfront. In winter that means eating shrimp while surfers take on humongous waves. Also famous: Foodland poke (the locals' choice) and the original Kua ʻAina in Haleiwa for burgers.
For a more luxurious lunch: Haleiwa Beach House, right on the water in town (closed Tuesdays), or Roy's Beach House at Turtle Bay, up the coast past the surf breaks.
We choose based on that day's wind, waves, and weather. Winter means Pipeline, Sunset Beach, or Waimea Bay when the big swells are running. Summer means Sharks Cove snorkeling, Waimea Bay swimming, and turtles at Laniakea.
The boat is the morning. The afternoon is yours — pick one and the map follows.

What it costs
The private tour is one price for the vehicle, not per person — so four people pay $200 each, six pay $133. The shark boat is booked and paid separately with the operator.

No. On the cage dive you hold the bars at the surface with a mask and snorkel. It's suitable for kids and non-swimmers.Yes. Cage-free means snorkeling at the surface in open water with safety divers beside you, so you should be a comfortable swimmer. If someone in your group isn't, the ride-along option lets them watch from the boat.
Three miles offshore in the morning is usually calm, which is one reason we recommend the early boat. If you're prone to motion sickness, take medication the night before and again an hour before departure.

Swimsuit worn under your clothes, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, and a change of clothes. Masks and snorkels are provided by the boat. We have room in the vehicle for everything.
Boats go out on most days; the harbor and the dive site are on the protected side of the swell. If the operator does cancel for weather, we turn it into a big-wave watching day at Pipeline and Waimea instead, and the boat refunds you directly.
